Troye Sivan Mellet was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on the 5th of June 1995 to mother Laurelle Mellet and father Shaun Mellet. His mother is a former model and homemaker while his father is a real estate agent and businessman. Troye grew up with his mom, dad, and three siblings (two brothers and a sister) in Perth, Western Australia. At home, he was raised in an Orthodox Jewish family as his father was born to a Lithuanian-Jewish family and his mom converted to Judaism. However, Troye doesn’t consider himself religious. He went to Carmel School which was a private Modern Orthodox school in Perth, but only up until 2009.
