Thomas Grant Gustin was born on the 14th of January 1990, in Norfolk, Virginia, to parents Thomas Gustin and Dr. Tina Haney. His father was a college professor while his mother used to work as a pediatric nurse. Growing up he developed an interest in arts so Gustin went on to study the Arts program in Norfolk for musical theater, attending the Governor’s School. While living in Virginia, he also went to a theater organization named Hurrah Players Incorporated. Around that time he wanted to become an architect and was passionate about drawing as well as designing unique things. Grant’s acting career started back in 2004 while he was still studying in high school, where he got a chance to appear in the film titled Rain. In this student movie, he played Logan. Prior to this, Gustin was part of the 2003 Kid Fitness Jungle Adventure Exercise Video a Direct-to-DVD movie in which he played a Club Fit kid. From September 2010 to September 2011 Gustin appeared in the Broadway Revival Tour of West Side Story in which he got the role of Baby John. The turning point of his career came in November of 2011 when Gustin was named to play the recurring role of Sebastian Smythe, on the popular musical TV series Glee. In August of 2021, Gustin became the father of a daughter after his wife gave birth to their first child.
